Hello and welcome to my website.

I’m PJ Shifflet, a twentysomething Roman Catholic seminarian for the Diocese of Orange in California. I study at Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, Oregon. Currently, I’m living at the rectory of Holy Family Cathedral in Orange, California until the end of the summer.

After graduating from a technical high school in 2010, I went on to pursue degrees in mathematics and philosophy at a local community college. Discovering very quickly that mathematics was not my strong suit, I changed majors a couple times during the following year and a half, dabbling in both history and deaf studies. Providentially, I entered seminary and I am now close to completing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and will be graduating from the college seminary in 2015. God willing, I will continue on to graduate studies in theology.

I write daily in a Moleskine diary with a fountain pen; I enjoy reading novels, playing Settlers of Catan, and taking photographs; and I blog about seminary life.

You can contact me through email or send me something the old-fashioned way.
