Phillip J. Shifflet

1477492_10151557873633039_164117235_nHello and welcome to my website.

I’m Phillip, a twentysomething Roman Catholic seminarian for the Diocese of Orange in California. I’m currently living, studying, and worshipping at Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, Oregon.

After graduating from a technical high school in 2010, I went on to pursue degrees in mathematics and philosophy at a local community college. Discovering very quickly that mathematics was not my strong suit, I changed majors a couple times during the following year and a half, dabbling in both history and deaf studies. Providentially, I entered seminary and I am now close to completing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and will be graduating from the college seminary in 2015. God willing, I will continue on to graduate studies in theology.

I write daily in a Moleskine diary with a ballpoint pen, I enjoy reading novels and playing Settlers of Catan, and I blog ever too infrequently about seminary life.
